Bodysculpting is a major plastic surgery procedure that helps restore the natural contours of the body after a major weight loss. After significant weight loss or pregnancy, there is often excess skin that does not disappear on its own. Bodysculpting is a set of surgical methods that are used to remove excess skin, tighten tissues and restore body proportions.
It is a combined approach that can include a Lower body lift (lower body – abdomen, hips, buttocks, thighs) and Upper body lift (back, chest, arms). It restores firmness, shape and aesthetics to the body – and with it, a healthy self-esteem. The length of the procedure is 3-6 hours depending on the extent.

Consultation with a doctor

  • Assessment of the extent of skin excess and elasticity
  • Individual intervention design
  • Lower and/or upper lift options – not performed at the same time, but with a time lag, as these are demanding interventions, especially for recovery

Preoperative examination

  • ECG, blood tests, It is possible to undergo examinations at our clinic
  • Results must be no older than 14 days before the procedure
  • Inform the doctor about the medicines and supplements you are taking

Preparation before the procedure

  • Stable weight for at least 6 months
  • 7 days before the procedure, take out blood thinners
  • 24 h before the procedure no smoking
  • 12 h before the operation do not eat, drink alcohol or coffee

Procedure

  • Lasts 3-6 hours depending on the scope
  • Circular excision of the skin is performed
  • Absorbable sutures and elastic compression are used

After the procedure

  • The patient usually stays in the clinic for 3-5 days
  • Wearing compression underwear for 6-8 weeks
  • Lessons on post-operative care and scar care
  • Make sure you get a ride home – expect not to be able to drive for 10 days after the procedure

Aftercare

High constraints: 3-4 weeks of rest after the procedure

Recommendations

  • Return to office work: after about 2-3 weeks
  • Full physical exercise: after 6-8 weeks at the earliest
  • Sport, sauna, sunbathing: after 8 weeks
  • Compression underwear must be worn continuously for 4 weeks
  • It is important to take care of scars – pressure massage, silicone strips

The treatment is not suitable for people who:

  • In acute infection, with healing disorders
  • Women planning pregnancy
  • Patients with serious diseases

Possible complications are rare and may include:

  • Bleeding, infections, seromas
  • Asymmetry, unsightly scars
  • Temporary loss of sensitivity
