Preoperative examination

  • ECG, blood tests, possibly sonography of the breasts
  • It is possible to undergo an examination at our clinic
  • Blood test results must not be older than 30 days before the procedure
  • Inform the doctor about the medicines and supplements you are taking

Preparation before the procedure

  • Stop taking blood thinners 7 days before the procedure
  • Do not smoke for 24 hours before the procedure
  • 12 h before the operation do not eat, drink alcohol or coffee
  • Do not use body creams and perfumes on the day of the procedure

Procedure

  • Lasts approximately 30-60 minutes
  • Performed under local or general anaesthesia
  • Incision around the edge of the areola, removal of excess skin
  • Wound closure with absorbable sutures

After the procedure

  • 1 day inpatient or outpatient procedure (depending on anesthesia)
  • Instructions for home care and wearing compression underwear

Follow up

    • First follow up visit, 7–14 days after the procedure
    • Further check ups as recommended by your doctor

Increased restriction: one week of rest after the procedure

Recommendations

  • Sterile wound coverage for approximately 2 weeks
  • Sleep on your back for 2 weeks
  • Pressure scar massage and the use of moisturizing creams
  • Rest 3-7 days, without physical exertion
  • Return to office work after 1 week
  • Sports activities possible after 4 weeks

The treatment is not suitable for people who:

  • Under 18 years of age
  • With hormonal disorders that are not under control
  • With serious health complications

Possible complications are rare and may include:

  • Bleeding, swelling, infection
  • Healing disorders
  • Asymmetry, formation of rough scars
