What is a Brazilian butt lift?

Brazilian Butt Lift is a modern method of butt augmentation and modeling using your own fat. Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) uses the patient’s own fat to augment and shape the buttocks. The fat is gently removed from other areas of the body – such as the abdomen, hips or thighs – and after processing is transferred to the buttocks, creating a harmonious hourglass figure. The extracted fat is processed by a special BodyJet device that flushes the fat out with a water jet, minimising cell damage. The fat is then injected into the upper buttocks through tiny punctures. The duration of the procedure is 2-3 hours.

Preparation before the procedure

  • 7 days before the procedure, take out blood thinners
  • 24 h before the procedure no smoking
  • 12 h before the operation do not eat, drink alcohol or coffee

Procedure

  • BodyJet fat removal from the abdomen, hips or thighs
  • Processing of fat by sterile separator
  • Application to the buttocks using a thin cannula without scarring
  • Overall accentuation of the shape of the buttocks and body contours

After the procedure

  • Wearing compression underwear
  • Avoid sitting for at least 2 weeks
  • Sleep only on your stomach or side
  • Driving a car with only an inflatable ring

Follow up

  • The first check-up usually takes place within 7-10 days, according to the agreement with the surgeon.

Long-term controls

  • The course of healing and the quality of the scar are evaluated, and additional treatment is suggested if necessary.

Increased restriction:1-2 weeks of rest after the procedure

Recommendations

  • Avoid sitting for at least 2 weeks
  • Sleep only on your stomach or side
  • Driving a car with only an inflatable ring
  • Return to office work: 1-2 weeks
  • Wearing compression underwear for 4-6 weeks
  • Full physical load: after 4-6 weeks

Possible complications

The treatment is not suitable for people who:

  • With a lack of suitable fat to take
  • With serious illness, infection
  • Smokers (impaired blood supply and survival of fat cells)

Possible complications are rare and may include:

  • Mild swelling and bruising are common
  • Fat irregularity
  • Transient numbness
  • Loss of transplanted fat – 30-50% of fat can be absorbed
