Consultation with a doctor

  • Evaluation of the shape of the nose and face
  • We will discuss your wishes and options based on consideration of your physical disposition
  • Choosing the appropriate surgical technique
  • After the consultation you will receive a price calculation and possible dates of surgery

Preoperative preparation

  • Photo documentation
  • Preoperative examination – ECG, blood tests
  • It is possible to undergo an examination at our clinic
  • Results must be no older than 14 days before the procedure
  • Inform the doctor about the medicines and supplements you are taking

Preparation for the procedure

  • 7 days before the procedure, take out blood thinners
  • 48 h before the procedure no smoking
  • 12 h before the operation do not eat, drink alcohol or coffee
  • Do not use body creams and perfumes on the day of the procedure

Procedure

  • Duration approx. 90-150 minutes
  • General anaesthesia
  • Adjustment of the bony and cartilaginous part of the nose
  • Use of internal and external sutures, fixation of the nose with a splint

After the procedure

  • Hospitalization usually 1 day
  • Instructions for home care, possible remedies for swelling and pain

Follow up

  • 7-10 days after the procedure, follow-up with the surgeon
  • Splint removal and healing checks

Recovery

Aftercare

Increased restriction: 1 week of rest after the procedure

Recommendations

  • Resting period of at least 7-10 days
  • Sleeping on your back with your head in an elevated position
  • Swelling and bruising gradually subside within 2 weeks
  • Avoid sports and physical exertion for at least 4 weeks
  • Do not wear glasses for about 6 weeks
  • Sleep with your head in an elevated position

Contraindications

Possible complications

The treatment is not suitable for people who:

  • Overall poor health
  • Blood clotting disorders
  • Active infection

Possible complications are rare and may include:

  • Bleeding, infections
  • Asymmetry or need for revision
  • Longer healing time
