What to watch out for

  • A week before the treatment, it is ideal to discontinue medications that increase bleeding, avoid vitamin C and discontinue anti-inflammatory drugs. It is necessary to take into account that the applied hyaluronic acid starts to bind water over time and the treated tissue will gain volume within a few days after the treatment.

Aftercare

Minimum restrictions: You can return to normal activities immediately after treatment.

Recommendations

24 hours after treatment:

  • Avoid massaging and pressure on the treated area
  • Do not apply make-up to the treated area

7 days after treatment:

  • Limit visits to the sauna, solarium and intense physical activity
  • Mild swelling or redness after application is common; apply cool compresses to relieve it
  • Follow your doctor’s instructions for optimal results

Prevention:

  • Moisturise your skin regularly and protect it from the sun

Contraindications

Possible complications

The treatment is not suitable for people who:

  • With allergy to hyaluronic acid
  • With active infection or inflammation in the area of application
  • With atopic eczema in the area of application or if there is a cold sore on the skin
  • In pregnancy and while breastfeeding
  • Some autoimmune diseases

Possible complications are rare and may include:

  • Swelling, redness or bruising at the application site
  • Contact a doctor when the skin shows signs of inflammation, especially if the initial swelling and any pinkness have gone down and the skin has subsequently become red, itchy or swollen again.
