Preoperative preparation

  • Discontinuation of blood thinners 7 days before the procedure
  • Suitable headgear for the first days after the procedure

  • Duration of the procedure: approx. 60 minutes
  • Local anaesthesia (general anaesthesia is possible in children) or analgosedation
  • Incision behind the ear, cartilage modelling, drawing the auricle to the head
  • Gentle suturing and sterile coverage

After the procedure

  • Putting on a compression headband
  • Rest at the clinic and subsequent discharge home

Follow up

  • Stitches are removed after 7-10 days
  • The doctor monitors healing and symmetry

The first 2 weeks after the procedure:

  • Wearing an elastic headband all the time
  • Avoid physical exertion
  • Sleeping on your back

  • Blood clotting disorders
  • Overall poor health

Possible complications are rare and may include:
