What is Liposculpting?

Liposculpting, also known as lipofilling, lipografting or fatgrafting. Liposculpting is a modern method where fat taken from one part of the body – usually the abdomen, thighs or hips – is processed and then injected into another area. It is used to fill out the breasts, buttocks, or to fine-tune contours anywhere on the body. The result is a natural-looking volume increase without foreign substances. The procedure is particularly popular for its naturalness and minimal invasiveness.

Consultation with a doctor

  • Evaluation of the suitability of the method
  • Designation of sites for fat collection and application

Preoperative examination

  • ECG, blood tests, necessary preoperative sonography of the breasts
  • It is possible to undergo an examination at our clinic
  • Results must be no older than 14 days before the procedure
  • Inform the doctor about the medicines and supplements you are taking

Preparation before the procedure

  • 7 days before the procedure, take out blood thinners
  • 24 h before the procedure no smoking
  • 12 h before the operation do not eat, drink alcohol or coffee

Procedure

  • Fat is removed by liposuction from the abdomen, hips or thighs
  • Processed and injected into the target area
  • Duration of the procedure: 1-2 hours

After the procedure

  • The patient usually stays in the clinic for 1 day in case of general anaesthesia, after local anaesthesia he/she goes home immediately after the procedure
  • Lessons on post-operative care and scar care
  • Re-stick the patch removal sites, leave dry for 7 days
  • Places after application of fatgrafting, should not be compressed with elastic underwear
  • Make sure you get a ride home – you may not be able to drive immediately after the procedure.

Follow up

  • 7-10 days after the procedure a follow-up with the surgeon takes place

Aftercare

Slight restrictions:1-2 days of rest after the procedure

Recommendations

  • Resting and icing are recommended
  • Swelling may persist for several days
  • Full physical load: after 2-4 weeks

Contraindications

Possible complications

The treatment is not suitable for people who:

  • With acute infection or inflammation
  • With blood clotting disorders
  • With a lack of adipose tissue to harvest

Possible complications are rare and may include:

  • Swelling and bruising are common and usually disappear within a few days to weeks.
  • Tenderness, pain, stiffness at the site of fat removal and its application.
  • Temporary numbness in the treated area.
  • Asymmetries and possible inequalities.
  • Resorption of fat 30-50%, which may lead to less effect or the need for repetition.
