INFORMATION ABOUT THE PROCEDURE

What is a preoperative examination?

The pre-operative examination determines whether your body is ready for the planned surgery and whether the risks are minimised. The pre-operative examination is a set of medical tests and questionnaires that the patient completes before the planned surgery. Its aim is to detect possible risks and to adapt the surgical and anaesthetic procedure. It typically involves filling out a medical questionnaire, a physical examination by a doctor, an ECG, a blood draw for laboratory analysis, and a urinalysis. The doctor may also request a chest X-ray or an ultrasound of the heart. If the patient is being treated by a specialist (pulmonologist, cardiologist, hematologist, endocrinologist, diabetologist, etc.), it is necessary to bring a report from the treating physician with any recommendations prior to general anesthesia.

This is a standard set of medical procedures that assess your overall health. It is ideal to have a pre-operative examination 7-14 days prior to your scheduled procedure.

You can undergo a pre-operative examination in the above-mentioned range at Perfect Clinic even if you have a surgery scheduled at another medical facility.
